Rochelle's earliest residents were the Siwanoys, living on the southern
end of Davenport Neck -- the area known as Titus Mill farm. They sustained
themselves by gathering food from the abundant fish, clams and oysters found
along the shore of Long Island Sound. 
Rye:
Rye is the oldest permanent settlement in Westchester County. It began in
1660 when Peter Disbrow, John Coe and Thomas Studwell came from Greenwich
with a small group of settlers. They were joined by John Budd the following
year. 
Scarsdale:TheTown
and Village of Scarsdale is a municipality in the south-central section
of Westchester County, New York, 22 miles north of New York City. Scarsdale
comprises an area of 6.5 square miles and is primarily residential. In the
1990 Federal Census its population was 16,987. As of March, 1998, Scarsdale
had 10,635 registered voters.
Mamaroneck:
The Village of Larchmont, the Village of Mamaroneck and the Unincorporated
area are part of the Town of Mamaroneck, which has a written history dating
from 1661, when John Richbell purchased "three necks of land"
from the Indians. Larchmont and Mamaroneck are ideally situated along the
shores of beautiful Long Island Sound, with lovely wooded hills gently rising
inland - yet it is only 28-30 minutes to Grand Central Station in the middle
of New York City, with excellent commuting service provided by Metro-North.
Nearby highways offer quick access to all airports, upper New York State,
New England. New Jersey and Long Island. Shopping is an absolute joy, with
the many attractive and convenient local boutiques and specialty shops,
supplemented by the large and fashionable department stores in nearby White
Plains, Greenwich and Stamford, just minutes away. In addition to the natural
beauty and conveniences of the area, residents usually mention the excellent
school system as a major factor in their decision to move here.
